Production Supervisor
Overview
The Production Supervisor works with other supervisors, managers, planners,
engineers, and hourly employees. He/She supervises employees to meet the
production schedule in accordance with, and or exceeding a G.M.P.'s critical
controls, line efficiencies, safety and sanitation requirements.
Responsibilities
- Plan production and maintenance in accordance with established schedules
- Determine staffing requirements and hours of operation
- Train and instruct all new employees as to operating, safety, housekeeping, and critical control point procedures
- Maintain safety and sanitation standards
- Verify payroll and critical control points daily
- Enforce plant rules and maintain discipline
- Make instanteous decisions to ensure continuity of departments and production requirements
- Conduct safety meetings, safety audits, and prepare Job Safety Analysis for hourly tasks
- Maintain costs in designated area by controlling labor
- Aid in the development of departmental Capital Projects list
- Ensure plant sanitation and safety levels meet or exceed Beech-Nut and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- 2 year degree preferred
- A minimum of 5 years experience in food manufacturing, with responsibility for production processing and packaging
- Proven ability to recruit, train, and motivate personnel
- Ability to develop and lead multiple direct reports
- Sound administrative and supervisory skills
- Basic computer skills. Microsoft Office preferred
- Sound communication skills, written and verbal
